Andrew Myers, Certified PGA Professional, Co-Owner Kless Myers Golf Management
Andy Myers began his golf career at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in 2008 as a locker room attendant, outside services attendant and pro shop attendant at The Atunyote Golf Club before being promoted to Assistant Golf Professional in November 2009. That same year, Andy enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. While working as Assistant Golf Professional and Tournament Coordinator at Shenendoah and Kaluhyat Golf Clubs, Andy completed all levels of the Professional Golf Management Program, passed the Player’s Ability Test and was elected a Class A PGA Member in March of 2011. Andy has also completed all 7 Certified Professional Programs in the areas of retail, golf operations, ownership & leasing, executive management, general management, instruction and player development. He is one of a select few PGA Professional to hold all 7 certifications. In March of 2103 an opportunity arose to manage an 18 hole golf course in Syracuse, NY and together with fellow PGA Professional Philip Kless, Kless Myers Golf Management was formed. We currently manage the golf and grounds at Lyndon Golf Course in Central NY as well as Golf Operations for the Monroe County Parks Golf Courses in Western NY. Andy’s philosophy on teaching is tailored to each student and is based on physical abilities and personal goals. He believes in a natural golf swing, driven by the big muscles in the body to create maximum club head speed and contact consistency. Andy believes it is extremely important for the player to understand the causes for various types of results so that practice is productive and leads to the overall performance the student desires. Andy has taught players of all skill levels and ages, from juniors to fellow PGA Professionals.
Philip Kless, Class A PGA Professional, Co-Owner Kless Myers Golf Management
Philip Kless holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Resort and Tourism with a specialization in Professional Golf Management from Coastal Carolina University. Phil is a native of Rochester, NY. He was first team All County Golf in high school, and captain of both golf and varsity basketball teams. His career has provided the opportunity to gain extensive experience in the golf industry regarding both inside and outside operations. Phil has directed tournaments which included organizing pairings and skills challenges, managing tournament operations staff, enforcing rules and regulations for course governance, supervising guest check-in and reservation processes as well as pro shop management. He also skilled and trained in club fitting and golf instruction. Being a golf professional allows him share his passion and knowledge through lessons, which teach fundamentals. He also likes keeping instruction simple and easy to understand so that a fun atmosphere is created. Phil will work with each student to design a personal improvement program to help them achieve their golfing goals.
Wade Malicky, Class A PGA Professional, Head Professional – Genesee Valley Golf Course
Wade Malicky is from Pleasant Mount, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management with an option in Golf Management. Wade began his career in golf in high school at Elkview Country Club in Northeast Pennsylvania working in the bag room and cart barn. Throughout his 4 year high school varsity career, Wade accumulated a 41-7-3 record, culminating in a 12-0 record senior year and being named the North Division Player of the year. While at Penn State, Wade spent his 4 summers working at various clubs ranging from Pro Shop Staff at Buckhill Golf Club in Pennsylvania, Outside Service Attendent at Wintergreen Resort in Virginia and Tournament Intern at Turning Stone Resort in New York. Since graduating from college, Wade has spent his winters at Scottsdale National Golf Club working Outside Service and Caddying, and was an Assistant Golf Professional at The Preserve @ Grandview Lodge in Minnesota. Over the years, Wade has learned the ins and outs of the golf business and looks forward to working with you as the new Head Professional at Genesee Valley Golf Course.
Daniel Vanill, PGA Apprentice, Assistant Golf Professional – Genesee Valley Golf Course
Daniel Vanill is from Irondequoit, New York. He has attended Campbell University in the Professional Golf Management program and is now apprenticing under the guidance of Andy, Phil, and Wade to become a PGA certified teaching professional. Daniel attends MCC in the Business Administration program and is expecting to graduate in the fall of 2017. Daniel began golfing at the age of 6 and played the sport throughout his years of school, becoming Captain of his high school golf team his senior year. Daniel worked last summer at The Club at Las Campanas in Santa Fe, New Mexico as an outside service professional and a caddie before deciding to start his apprenticeship. While at Las Campanas Daniel worked with the junior golf program, and daycare camps honing his skills to help teach and develop juniors into the next generation of golfers. Daniel plans to complete his apprenticeship under the guidance of Kless Myers Golf Management.
